In 2026, Amy Ferguson won the Women in Contracting Award for Victoria at the Master Electricians Australia Excellence Awards, which recognise women making a significant contribution to the electrical contracting industry.

Amy runs the operations side of Ferguson Electrical, from the first call to the final invoice. It's proof that women belong at every level of the trade, on the tools and running the business. “This award is for every woman who's ever been told a job isn't for her. I want women to know they can choose anything they want to do. The possibilities are endless, and gender should never stop someone from achieving their dreams.”

What we do

We hire women: female apprentices like Bella, learning the trade properly on real jobs from day one. We open the door: work experience ranging from school holiday stints to a full year on the tools, and if we can't take someone on, we'll help them find a business that can. We back them: weekly check-ins, written feedback, one-on-one reviews and mental health days built into the year.
