Lighting Upgrade at Total Tools Braeside: Bold, Bright & Energy-Efficient

1. Why the upgrade?

Total Tools’ iconic red-and-yellow branding is hard to miss in daylight—but once the sun set, the store’s façade and seven-metre pylon sign were fading into the background. Management wanted:

• Punchier night-time visibility from the busy arterial road
• Uniform illumination across both the building façade and the freestanding sign
• Energy-efficient fittings that slash maintenance and running costs

2. Our solution

We specified high-output LED floodlights with a daylight-white colour temperature (5000 K) to make the colours pop without washing them out. Each fitting delivers plenty of punch while drawing a fraction of the power of the old metal-halide units.

We worked outside of trading hours (and at sunrise for the roofline shots you see here) to keep customer disruption to zero. Our team handled everything from EWP hire to final Lux-level checks and of course the Certificate of Electrical Safety (COES).

3. The result

• The building is now an unmistakable beacon for tradies on their early-bird runs.
• Night-time drive-bys are 2× brighter, but energy use is down ~60 %.
• Staff report fewer after-hours security concerns thanks to the improved light spill on the car park and entry.
