Security Camera Installation for Airbnb in McCrae

Project Overview

We were engaged by the owners of an Airbnb property in McCrae to design and install a security system that would provide visibility, protection and remote access between guest stays.

With short-term rentals, security needs are different to owner-occupied homes. The owners wanted to:

• Monitor arrivals and departures
• Protect the property between bookings
• Improve overall safety
• Access live footage remotely

The Solution

We supplied and installed a Dahua 8-channel NVR system tailored to the layout of the home.

System included:

• 8-channel Dahua NVR for secure recording
• 4 x 6MP high-definition cameras
– 2 positioned to the front of the property
– 2 positioned to the rear
• Full setup, commissioning and client app configuration
• Signal antenna booster installation to improve connectivity

The 6MP cameras provide clear, detailed footage of entry points and outdoor areas, making them ideal for coastal and holiday properties.

Clean Installation & Weather Protection

All cameras were professionally mounted under the eaves for weather protection and a discreet finish. Positioning was carefully planned to maximise coverage while maintaining the home’s appearance.

The result is a system that is effective, reliable and visually unobtrusive.
