Raising the Standard: How Ferguson Electrical Supports NDIS Clients Differently
Breaking down barriers in trades through empathy, training, and action
At Ferguson Electrical, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and understood—especially in their own homes.
That’s why we’ve taken steps to ensure our team is equipped not just with tools and trade knowledge, but with empathy and inclusive training that meets the needs of NDIS participants and those living with disability.
We recently spent the morning with Lisa from MiLife, who led a team training session focused on respectful and effective communication when working with people with disabilities. We met at our favourite local spot, Gretel Roasters in Carrum, and covered everything from non-verbal cues to common sensory triggers and the small changes that make a big difference.
But we’re not stopping at theory. Here’s what we’re putting into practice:
Too often, tradespeople are seen as intimidating, rushed, or hard to communicate with. We want to break that stereotype—and raise the bar for how trades can support people living with disability.
Whether it’s a power point installation, lighting upgrade, or full rewire, we show up prepared, informed, and with genuine care for our clients and their wellbeing.
Ferguson Electrical is proud to be part of a growing movement of inclusive trades. And we’ll keep learning, listening, and doing better—because every home and every person deserves safe, respectful service.
